In one of my recent Consulting engagements, I asked the participants to submit list of Six Sigma Project Ideas for initiating improvement projects.

1. Revisiting the productivity norms to increase the departmental efficiency and productivity.
2. Resource Utilization to be maximized and monitored in order to get the maximum ROI from each department.

3) Skill set enhancement: Our approach will be to reconcile the existing productivity in the department as against the set norm and plan for productivity enhancement through skill set enhancement of resources.

4)Multitasking: In Books, inflow of projects is inconsistent. we receive projects which are to be typesetted on 3B2, TeX, Indesign and for that we need to develop multitasking skill in our resources so that we can utilize them better.

5) Pagination requires training to minimize the extra effort of QC

6) Reduce the Rework.
