IMR one of the most powerful data visualization control chart. IMR as a control chart is to built when you want to check special cause variation present in the data or not, using IMR chart you can conclude that the process is within statistical control or not. If you are building the IMR do the MR first if MR is out of control no point looking at the I chart.
