The data for some of the Xs is missing

If we get a potential X but the data for it is missing and the SME says to go ahead with the improvement around those X, and upon improvement we start collecting data on the same. During the project when sufficient data is collected on that improved X – Should we perform Analyze again? What if it turns out to be NULL?
