Data Type is a very critical consideration in Lean Six Sigma related analysis or any other place where analysis is being used.

Data Type is a very critical consideration in Lean Six Sigma or any other place where analysis is being used.
For a layman, Data can be put in 2 categories
1. Continuous categories
Anything that can be broken into small units.
That is which can be in a fraction.
For example:- Length, distance, weight, temperature, area of this room, velocity , age of the students, heaight, time, etc.
2. Discrete categories
Anything that can not be broken into smaller units.
That is which is a complete number.
For example, No of people in a group, no of students in a class, Head count, No of chairs in this office, No of walls in this room, No of managers/AMs/TLs/SMEs in a office, etc.
