Job description

We are looking to hire a Vendor Management Specialist in the Risk & Controls organization.

The incumbent would be a member of Mercer s Vendor Management organization and will have responsibility for performing vendor management related activities in support of Mercer s Vendor Management Framework.

This role specifically requires an expert understanding of Vendor Contracts.

We will count on you for:

  • All aspects related to Vendor Contracting
    • You will be responsible to maintain an up-to-date repository of all contracts currently available
    • All contracts should be indexed with relevant details available to drive ease of look up
    • Preferred repository will be the new Sharepoint in the Office 365 platform
    • You will be required to coordinate and ensure all risk assessments get completed on time
    • SMART repository of previous and current (and future) risk assessments will need to be created
    • You should be able to read a contract and identify what aspects have been missed or not included
    • Be able to understand the contract in depth - and then review the contract against vendor performance to create business analytics which can be used for re-negotiation of pricing
    • Liaise with internal business stakeholder groups (Business Vendor Relationship Owners, Mercer Vendor Management, MMC Global Sourcing and MMC Global Information Services)
    • Prepare and distribute SMART management reporting to summarize all aspects related to contracts for Mercer s vendors

 

What you need to have:

  • Graduation / Post-graduation in any stream
  • Minimum 13 years of experience with the last 5 years on Contract management & related activities
  • Professional qualification in Law or experience with legal firms with specific exposure to contracts and agreements will be an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of Office 365, MS Office including Teams, One Note, Power BI, Sharepoint is a pre-requisite
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Analytical bent of mind to read contracts with a view to build smart business worthy analytics
  • Ability to independently create, maintain and review vendor contracts with expert filing and documentation
  • Knowledge on Quality tools like Six Sigma, Lean and Kaizen are good to have
  • Ability to meet deadlines and a real desire to achieve results
  • Be a problem solver - take ownership to ensure completion of any given task
  • Ability to collaborate between business teams, vendors, legal and IT teams for vendor onboarding or off-boarding and for problem solving
