B r ief Position Description:

Model N Security team is seeking Senior Security Engineer to manage and operate Information Security Operations, Threat Management, Incident Response & Vulnerability Management functions in Hyderabad, India. This role will be reporting to the Sr. Director and Security Officer of Model N and will work closely with Cloud Operations and IT teams. Successful candidates will have worked in organizations where they have used security monitoring, logging and threat management tools, vulnerability management tools and procedures and have basic developing design skills.

Responsibilities

Lead security and threat response efforts raised from the remainder of the company, escalating as necessary
Work with fellow security, cloud, and IT team members to influence the company to help architect positive security changes
Identify anomalies generated by monitoring solutions within the environment
Create signatures and tools to analyze and detect malicious activity within AWS and corporate environments
Actively manage, improve, and monitor cloud infrastructure on AWS, EC2, S3, and RDS, including backups, patches, and scaling
Leverage SIEM and monitoring tools to respond to suspicious/malicious activity and continuously baseline solution - Working with security tools and processes to monitor, detect, and mitigate risks discovered
Leverage programming languages to solve problems and automate solutions to security findings
Foster a security mindset with our development teams by working with security champions
Automate operational activities that are part of the maintaining security infrastructure
Set up monitoring dashboards, alerts, log management, and other security operations capabilities by utilizing industry-standard tools and platforms (SIEMs) alongside our currently deployed toolsets/platforms.
Participate in SOC1 / SOC2 / ISO 27001 audits
Demonstrated experience in areas such as systems, network, and/or application security.
Facilitate and embed security controls across our infrastructure and into our CI/CD pipelines
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers to design security systems and solutions that enable developers to operate their services more effectively, securely, and safely

Job Qualifications:

4 to 7 years of hands-on security operations experience with a deep understanding of various technologies in the security domain
Experience with and proven methods for managing the information security incident lifecycle, including incident response, mitigation, after-action reporting, and mapping a path forward.
Hands-on experience with Vulnerability Management and Vulnerability Scanning tools like Qualys, Checkmarx, ZAP and more
Proven ability to independently identify and resolve critical and complex issues through effective problem-solving skills
Understanding of best practices in cybersecurity awareness
Understanding and hands-on experience with SIEM tools, Security monitoring, Logging and Security Incident Response Management
Understanding of information security architecture, mitigation of threats, and compensating controls. Deep familiarity with frameworks such as CSC 20, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001
Ability to combine information from various sources into clear, concise technical documents that explain the background and procedures for detecting and mitigating risks
Degree in computer science/Computer Engineering /Cyber security preferred (BE / BTech or ME / MTech)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with Unix or Linux preferred
