Job description

As a Manager - QA, you would be leading a team of quality analysts and engineers, and working closely with the product development team to ensure that the product releases are bug free and correspond to actual business requirements.

Ability to understand business requirements, context of the program/ code, deep understanding of SDLC and STLC, good insights in web technologies and familiarity to various testing methodologies and processes would be key to success in this role.

Key Responsibility Area

• Understand and review the product/ platform requirements, specifications, technical design documents
• Manage the complete QA life cycle and STLC of product/ platform and work towards automating standard testing procedures
• Design and prepare detailed and well-structured test plans, test scenarios/ routines and write test cases based on the requirements
• Develop and execute automation frameworks and test scripts on the backend of product/ platform
• Work in the areas of Frontend testing, Manual testing, Automation testing, API testing, Backend testing, Database testing, Integration testing, Regression testing, and other testing like Smoke, Sanity, Black Box, Grey Box, System, Behavior compatibility
• Perform feature tests based on a thorough understanding of feature requirements and desired behavior with Cross
• Manage bug life cycle - starting from bug/ defect (other functional usability issues) identification, verification, reporting/ logging, monitoring debugging process, validating fixes and analyzing errors
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of test cases, test phases, bug tracking
• Work closely with product development team to ensure proper communication of test results and simulation of bugs
• Team management - mentor, train, allocate work, follow up and retain a team of quality analysts and engineers

• Education - >80% in classes 10 and 12, and >60% in B. Tech/ B.E./ M. Tech (preferably in CS/ IT)
• In depth knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle)
• 5 years of strong hands-on experience of Functional GUI (UI/ UX) testing, API/ Backend/ Automation Testing of mobile/ web/ desktop applications
• Should have managed a team of at least 4-5 members
• Excellent communication, reporting, troubleshooting and testing skill
• Experience on Agile Quality Assurance for large and complex cloud based applications
• Strong knowledge of QA/ Software Testing methodologies, test bug management tools (JIRA/Bugzilla/ Open Project) and industry best practices
• Basic knowledge of Database and SQL queries
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills
• Presentation: Periodically review and present the performance of KPIs and action plans to management
• Certification - ISTQB, ICST required
