Job description
-Bachelor of Law degree from India
-Proficient in English language.
-At least 3-4 years post qualification experience in a global corporations legal department or contract management department or within a law firm
-Experience in Consumer Healthcare or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods regulations and legislation
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the local language (if applicable) and English.
-Ability to communicate effectively with other professionals in the legal department and business teams
-Detail-oriented with excellent judgment and analytical skills
-Demonstrate ability to think outside the box.
-Expert in personal time management and adhering to deadlines. Proactively manage conflicting priorities.
-Ability to travel as required
-Expert at contract and commercial drafting, contract assessment & stakeholder (internal or external) engagement.
-Ability to provide guidance/interpretation on existing contract provisions.
-Ability to work collaboratively with an onsite and/or virtual global teams, build relationships with other business functions (HR, Finance, Marketing etc.).
-Strong understanding of core legal knowledge and ability to advise in the consumer healthcare areas relevant to our client and their industry sectors (e.g., commercial contracts, transaction management, disputes, sector-specific regulation)
-Expert level knowledge and judgment about contractual and commercial risks/issues in transactions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Provide general support for legal and regulatory queries from Client business operations in the local market.
-Develop, review, advise and recommend policies and practices on issues presenting potential legal risks and educating the internal clients on legal developments and policies
-Be a strong influence on risk management and risk judgement calls to be taken in relation to local business operations; advise on risks and appropriate strategies to manage/mitigate risks while maximizing business benefits in relation to local business operations.
-Work closely with Government Affairs on appropriately influencing legislative developments affecting the business or operations. Track legislative developments in the country, analyze impact of regulatory changes; train the business on new legislation or regulatory rules impacting the business to ensure compliance.
-Support internal and external investigations and disputes, when appropriate.
-Provide support for in country contracting drafting, reviews, negotiations and compliance to Client Contracting Policies and Standards.
-Provide general regulatory guidance on marketing materials.
-Support the protection and enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights working in close collaboration with members of the Patent and Trademark teams.
