Job description

  • Manage and develop teams of individual contributors and managers in roles with moderate work complexity and risk in the Operations functional area
  • Work with more experienced management to develop and execute business strategies
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development within the Operations functional area
  • Develop and implement business unit strategies
  • Provide expertise for technical, operational and processing functions related to business unit
  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions of Operation management functional team to meet moderate to high risk deliverables
  • Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility across business lines or functional areas
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners and peers associated with the function or affected by its outcomes
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Operations
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

Required Qualifications, International:

  • Experience in Operations, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Management experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • University: degree in Business or related discipline
  • Relevant Experience: 10-13+ years of relevant work experience with a min of 8+ years people management experience, preferably within the US Residential Mortgage Domain.


Job Expectations:

  • Primary (what she/he does 80% of the time)

  • Directly manage teams comprising production team members/Team Lead/ SUP/ SMEs/ Operations Managers
  • Plan, execute and be responsible for people, process and other business goals
  • May interact and/or negotiate with senior level business partners.
  • Decisions made at this level are critical and have potential impact towards the WFIP WF overall financial position
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, business travel (if required) Open for lateral opportunities as per the business requirements
  • Take a lead role in developing and implementing best practices
  • Increase effectiveness of staff and tools by recognizing opportunities for development and proactively creating new systems and structures
  • Develop metrics to measure growth and performance of the department
  • Interface with India and stateside managers on production, quality and security guidelines
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Interpret complex data and create Business MIS
  • Should be able to provide direct guidance to the team members
  • Possess a proven track record of setting up the teams in operations
  • Focus on continuous improvement

  • Assistance on any Transitions
  • May lead complex cross-enterprise projects resulting in enterprise wide implementation
  • Support in process expansion, staffing and new hire training
  • Possess a good understanding of the QC process in the operations environment and the action planning process

  • Key Differentiating Factor

  • Ability to initiate production/quality projects (six sigma/kaizen) for improving performance of the section
  • Initiate process improvement/quality improvement ideas and implement
  • Certifications in GB/ BB

 

  • Additional Requirements (Role Evolution)

  • Proven track record in using domain knowledge to identify opportunities to streamline the processes and add value to business
  • Experience in having lead / worked in teams that identify opportunities use-cases for process automation, including RPA
  • Good understanding of process re-engineering, BPM and other industry practices
  • Have a consultative mindset that builds on trusted partnerships with the Business to maximize potential
