Job description

Overall Job Purpose

Expected to play a Consulting role where in brings in best practices from the industry and provides solutions/recommendations to the client.

Plays a critical role in the end to end conceptualisation and delivery of cross-functional projects in the business. He is responsible for developing, in conjunction with the Project Sponsor, a definition of the project. Ensures that the project is delivered on time, to budget and to the required quality standard (within agreed specifications). He ensures the project is effectively resourced and manages relationships with a wide range of groups (including all project contributors).

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

The key responsibilities involve the following:

Process Excellence Consultant:

Define problem statement, design & improve processes and value streams using recognized methodologies such as Lean Enterprise and /or Six Sigma
Develop solution for the opportunity areas and work collaboratively with the internal / external teams
Work closely with the project team /work as a change consultant
Preparing and defining the project scope of work, financial plan, its goals and deliverables
Assigning responsibilities
Identifying the resources requirement
Managing all aspects of the project business plan and budget
Leading the operational, financial and technological aspects of projects based on timelines and work plans
Coordinating directly and indirectly with project staff to ensure successful completion of the project
Able to draw Value stream mapping, identify automation opportunities, analytics and AI opportunities
Develop To-Be solutions
Directing, supervising, supporting and coordinating the project team members/staff
Tracking project deliveries using project management tools
Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan
Recording and managing project issues and escalating where necessary
Resolving cross-functional issues at project level
Managing project scope and change control and escalating issues where necessary
Communicating intensively with stakeholders and vendors to establish cordial/effective working relationships
Ensure all required statutory and regulatory conditions are being met
Proactively manage foreseen project risk, mitigating as necessary
Manage changes to the project without unduly affecting the stated objectives and benefits
Reporting on project progress and communicating relevant information to the Executive Committee, including the project board
Coordinating the lesson learned process
Options assessment
Benchmarking and providing recommendations to the client
People management

Asset Creation and management:

Maintaining a central repository of all project related documentation
Prepare case studies and lessons learnt on successful completion of the project

Business Development:

Identify new project opportunities within the business area, and proactively pitch for more work for Knowledge services as a whole

General Responsibilities (including people development):

Share best practices with the Knowledge Services team, and conduct knowledge sharing sessions
Train and mentor new joinees, or up-skill tenured team members
To demonstrate a positive risk, compliance and control culture through the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of risks and issues within the business area, alongside ensuring timely and appropriate resolution of control weaknesses, actions and failures that arise.

Compliance To understand and adhere to M&Gs Code of Conduct and, where appropriate, comply with all relevant regulatory policies. This includes completion of any mandatory training requirements.
