The Impact Youll Make in this Role

As a Plant Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Leads quality improvement efforts within a medical device manufacturing facility. We are an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 13485 and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 21 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part 820 certified manufacturing location with a robust Quality Management System (QMS)
Implements solutions derived with the use of Lean Six Sigma methodology and Quality Engineering tools including Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes and statistical techniques
Determines best methods to communicate critical quality product features or performance factors to manufacturing associates utilizing innovative training methods
Supports a positive and collaborative team environment. As a key member of the technical team, you will participate on Six Sigma Green belt teams, represent the quality function on cross functional New Product teams and support our manufacturing associates with product and process understanding
Willingness to be on-call and support our 24-hour manufacturing schedule as needed. Project work may benefit from interaction with all team members including those on 2nd and 3rd shifts

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
One (1) year of work experience in manufacturing/production environment (private, public, government or military)an Internship or Co-op is considered qualifying

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Bachelors degree or higher in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline from an accredited institution
Experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment
Experience with Quality Engineering
Certification(s), or willingness to obtain, such as: Six Sigma, American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or other related quality improvement certification

Travel: May include up to 5 PERCENT domestic.

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized.

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
