Difference between Green Belt and Black Belt Projects

There is no established or industry standardized difference between Green Belt and Black Belt Projects, however different organizations have their own criteria, have mentioned some of them below.

a. Dollar Value-for example, any project less than USD 1 million will be GB, others are BB.
b. Impact- for example, any project which is good for a particular department is a GB and any project which will help the entire company will be a BB.
c. Minitab- Some projects can be completed without using Minitab also, they are GB and some projects can not be completed till you use statistical analysis by using Minitab or some other similar software, they are termed as BB.
So the definition of GB and BB may differ from company to company.
d. GB works as a part-timer while BB has to work as a full-timer.
e.GB reports to BB but not vice versa.
