Job Description
- Policy Formulation /Operational strategizing:
- Formulate, improve and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output.
- Set the targets to all departments in sync with business goal.
- Liaison with top management. Contribute in the development, implementation and management of strategic plans for operational activity.
Budget management:
- Coordinate with finance in making business plan.
- Coordinate with the finance department to obtain the necessary approval for the budget.
- Ensures that the quality equipments are procured within the budget.
- Ensure that all departments falling under him will adhere to the stipulated budget and that the budgeted funds are spent to keep the company operating smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
Design:
- Identifying pain areas and providing solutions to Design team
- Monitor turnaround time of designs.
Purchase:
- Control inventory
- Formulate the strategy to keep optimum inventory.
- Strategy for non-moving, obsolete inventory.
- Should also exercise effective control on following areas:
- Vendor development
- Cost reduction
- Lead time / Turnaround time
Production:
Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments like purchase, stores, quality, design involved in production and affecting production activity.
Implement the concepts of lean, KAIZEN, six sigma, etc
Work on improving product quality and manpower efficiency.
Conduct audits for all 4 departments and report to management.
Planning & Control:- Adhering to planned production schedules, resource utilisation for both machine & manpower.
Maintenance:- Set standards for machine maintenance and machine utilization and monitoring the same.
Quality:- Set standards for product quality, audit quality processes and techniques followed, provide feedback for processes and techniques improvements
Logistics management:- Coordination with logistics department to ensure the smooth functioning of inward-outward.
- Review and analyse the MIS presented by all departments under him.
- Brain storm and suggest improvements based on presented MIS.
- Analysis of budgeted v/s actual for all the aspects of the 4 departments to be presented to directors on a monthly basis for eg. OTD monitoring, cost reduction initiatives, process improvement, quality improvement, rejection/rework reduction etc
- Effective internal (inter-departmental) and external communication with vendors, subcontractors , customers(whenever reqd).
Capability building:- Train team (direct and indirect reportees) on being analytical, ERP utilisation, technical competencies.
ERP Drive:- Leading the ERP drive
- Safety policy, ISO & other certifications
- Leading all certifications related formalities
Salary: INR 8,00,000 - 15,00,000 P.A.
