While arriving at the variance of the sample, we divide by (N-1), why do we do so?

For calculating the variance we divide by n-1 , why do we do so and not by n, please explain

ONE THOUGHT ON “WHILE ARRIVING AT THE VARIANCE OF THE SAMPLE, WE DIVIDE BY (N-1), WHY DO WE DO SO ?”

Thanks
