When shall we use Histogram and when shall we not ?

The use of Histogram….. when shall a histogram be used and when it shall not be ….? please explain using examples

Details: We generally use histogram when we get to know the shap of the data distribution. In other words, seeing whether a process change has occurred from one time period to another and when you wish to communicate the data quickly and easily to others.

There is one catch that data should be in numaric form.

And one draw back is that histogram only consider one factor like you can present Sale or Cost at one time. if you do wish to present sales and cost in one histogram, well it could not be possible. For that you have to use bar chart or any other chart where you can persent more than one factor.

As per the enclosed image, which is presenting VAT, Income Tax Invoice etc on x-axis, is not a histogram chart example, well it is presenting column and line chart where columns are with the sub groups of clustured & stacked columns.

If you would like to get further understanding about how many types of data distribution/data shapes distrogram can be present, Please let us post further.
