Job Description :

The purpose of the role is to formulate the strategy for Packaging Quality Performance improvement PAN India in collaboration with cross functional stakeholders and ensure incoming packaging material quality as per specifications. The role is also responsible for driving Packaging Quality in Own & Third Party mfg. Units and driving supplier development programs and concerns handling related to packaging material.



  • Responsible for playing a pivotal role at HO in formulating the strategy for Packaging Quality of Mfg. Units and Supplier Quality improvement in collaboration with cross functional stakeholders
  • Responsible for resource (manpower and budget) planning and allocation
  • Drive overall quality improvements and ensure that they achieve set quality objectives
  • Conduct periodic reviews of units quality performance, Customer concerns, Supplier Quality Performance and ensure the planned activities are actioned
  • Ensure compliance to all legal and regulatory requirements including Packaging Quality, L1,GRMS,GMP& Food safety Systems
  • Develop supplier quality management systems through Self – Assessment & Periodic Audits
  • Drive Supplier Quality assurance through Capability development and trainings
  • Enable unit QC teams to carry out effective incoming inspection by providing specifications, AQL, procedures, equipment & training
  • Drive Supplier Quality Performance through supplier quality score card and periodic reviews
  • Drive Alternate Supplier development
  • Part qualification & SAP approvals
  • Ensure compliance to change management process for all specification changes, new supplier / material, Productivity, Innovation & Renovation projects
  • Identify and drive focused continual improvements which impacts Product Quality & Consumers
  • Drive “Direct Online” initiative to optimize incoming inspection for USL
  • Responsible for supplier quality development through continuous upgradation of systems & certifications like ISO 9001, 22000, FSSC etc.
  • Responsible for capability development of the department personnel through identification of training needs for all of them and delivery of trainings regularly
  • Drive a performance driven culture in the team by timely monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members
  • Drive improvement in value survey score through people engagement and development
  • Contribute towards development of talent for the department by providing subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities to enable readiness for higher roles
  • Ensure periodic follow-up with the recruitment team to fill the vacant positions with in stipulated time; in case of deviations escalate it to appropriate authority
