How does 5S Consulting work

5S is both science and an art of organizing and managing the workspace to enable the business to be more organized, profitable and improve the efficiency by eliminating waste, improving flow and reducing process unreasonableness. 5S Consulting enables an organization to have a safe, clean, orderly and productive workplace.

5S Consulting places an emphasis on using visual techniques to make it obvious when tools, materials, equipment, and supplies are in the right place – every time. It is the name of a workplace organization method that uses a list of five Japanese words:

• Sort(SEIRI) – All unneeded tools, parts, and supplies are removed from the area
• Set in Order(SEITON) – A place for everything and everything is in its place
• Shine(SEISO) – The area is cleaned as the work is performed
• Standardize(SEIKETSU) – Cleaning and identification methods are consistently applied
• Sustain(SHITSUKE) – 5S is a habit and is continually improved
